FASTING DIET BOOK - Review Please read this warning

I received a free copy of this book from Story Cartel in exchange for an honest review. I selected THE FASTING DIET BOOK, because I've struggled with a weight problem all my life and am constantly looking at new ways to drop poundage. The first part is written like a regular how-to book and the remainder is a collection of recipes to use on those fasting days that you choose. Because it's not true fasting, thus the recipes, and because you do it intermittently, I have found it to be useful on any day. My favorite recipe is for Creamy Veggie Stuffed Crepes, but the Banana Smoothie is a close second.
Here's the problem. Some of the Advice given is not only wrong, but potentially, seriously dangerous. Example:
"Ideally, you will drink half your body weight everyday, so dehydration is never a problem."
THERE IS A SERIOUS DANGER in that statement, and no physician would approve anyone to try it. Being that water weighs approximately 8 pounds per gallon, it works out that a person weighing 150 pounds should "ideally" drink nearly ten gallons of water everyday. Besides serious kidney problems, drinking that much water would have multiple negative effects on all major organs!
This had Thornton's credibility circling the drain and I got worried. There were a couple of other little niggling things like when she said "use this calculator to..." , but there was no link or reference to any calculator. This is why I only gave three stars.
There was one link that worked that seems to be a very helpful site. It is myfitnesspal.com.
The recipes and most of the ideas seem ok, but please check any advice given in this book that makes the hairs on your neck stand up before accepting and instigating the plan into your life.
